The Nominating Committee sees to the overall structure, function, and “flow” of what committees do and how they interact while doing the work of the Meeting. Members of the Nominating Committee seek to match a person’s gifts with the Meeting’s needs and discern with members and attenders their clearness to serve in the proposed capacity.
Nominating Committee recommends to the Monthly Meeting names of Friends to serve in the Meeting’s various roles as need arises. Its recommendations are presented for seasoning at Meeting for Business. The following month, the Meeting for Business will seek consensus on approval of nominations from the previous month.
In October of even years and as the need arises, a Meeting for Business with Attention to Nominations is held using a modified version of a process developed by the Strawberry Creek Meeting. To learn more about the Strawberry Creek process, click here.
