Welcome

Celo Friends Meeting is an unprogrammed Meeting of the Religious Society of Friends (Quakers). Our worship service is based on meditative silence, and vocal ministry arises when Friends are moved or called to share a message.

We are members of the Southern Appalachian Yearly Meeting and Association (SAYMA) which is affiliated with Friends General Conference. As an unprogrammed Meeting, we have no clergy. We instead have co-clerks to provide administrative leadership. Friends are historically a Christian denomination, and we are open to the teachings of other Faiths.

Meeting for Worship

First Days (Sundays) at 11:00. If you would like to sing with us, please come at 10:45am (it’s now inside).  Children start in silent worship with us and then depart for First Day School around 11:10am.  Please click here to visit the First Day School page for more information. You are welcome to stay for potluck at the rise meeting.

Hurricane Helene

Our meetinghouse wasn’t damaged by Hurricane Helene, but the area around us was devastated. Lives and homes were lost, along with businesses and livelihoods. Generous donations poured into our meeting, and we quickly formed an ad hoc Helene Relief Committee to distribute these funds to support local families. We are grateful for the support that helped our community through this rough patch!
